American bride celebrates traditional Turkish wedding in Silifke
In the Silifke district of Mersin, Onur Pehlivan and American physiotherapist Morgan celebrated their marriage with a traditional Turkish wedding ceremony.
Onur Pehlivan, who moved to the United States 12 years ago to operate his own restaurant, met Morgan approximately two years ago. The couple decided to hold their wedding in Pehlivan’s hometown to honor Turkish customs. The celebration featured traditional elements such as henna ceremonies, halay dances, and the çiftetelli dance. Morgan participated actively in the festivities, learning the traditional dances and joining the rhythm of the drums.
Following the marriage, Morgan has taken the Pehlivan surname and expressed her appreciation for Turkish hospitality and culture.
