American Express adds Leading Hotels of the World as points transfer partner

American Express has announced that its Membership Rewards program now includes the Leading Hotels of the World (LHW) Leaders Club as a transfer partner. The partnership uses a 4:1 transfer ratio, meaning 1,000 Membership Rewards points become 250 Leaders Club points, which are typically worth about 8 cents each. This translates to roughly $20 in hotel value per 1,000 Amex points when booked at LHW properties such as the Ritz Paris, Royal Mansour Marrakech, and more than 425 independent luxury hotels worldwide. The new partner offers a better rate than Citi’s transfer to Leaders Club, which operates at a 5:1 ratio, and provides Amex cardholders a straightforward way to stretch their points for high‑end accommodations.

The Leaders Club network spans over 80 countries, and the Amex addition brings the total number of its hotel transfer partners to four, enhancing the value proposition for premium card members.
