American Express Germany introduces airport dining credits

American Express Germany has announced a new benefit for Platinum cardholders called ‘Lounge on the Go’ to compensate for the loss of Lufthansa lounge access. Starting October 1, 2026, cardholders will receive six 20 Euro food and beverage credits.

These credits can be redeemed once per calendar day at participating vendors within Frankfurt and Munich airports. The benefit will be managed through the American Express Experiences App. This move follows pressure on the company to provide alternatives for German Platinum members, as the brand lacks a widespread Centurion Lounge network in Europe.
