American Express opens first European Centurion Lounge at Schiphol

American Express has opened its first Centurion Lounge in continental Europe, located at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. Situated between Concourses E and F, the approximately 560-square-meter space is designed to reflect the local culture of Amsterdam.

The lounge features a color palette of blues, greens, and earth tones inspired by the city's canals and landscapes, with a linear design reminiscent of canal houses. Interior elements include black quartzite, brass trim, warm wood, and floor-to-ceiling windows. The space also showcases works by local Dutch artists, including a painting of the American Express bulldog by Mieke Jonker, as well as motifs such as Delft Blue and silhouettes of Dutch royalty.

Dining options include seasonal dishes combining Dutch and regional European flavors. The facility offers two distinct bars: the Blue Roast Coffee Bar, which serves locally sourced coffee, and a full-service bar offering beer and cocktails. Tim de Bie, commercial terminal director at Schiphol, noted that the lounge is a significant addition to the airport's amenities.
