American Express unveils Business Platinum upgrade and Gold Card credit promotions

American Express is promoting two credit‑card offers aimed at existing and prospective cardholders. The Business Platinum upgrade lets eligible users earn 120,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $10,000 within the first three months, with the $895 annual fee applied (or prorated). Cardholders can check eligibility via the Amex app or website, and once upgraded they receive travel‑related perks such as hotel credits, lounge access and airline incident credits.

The Amex Gold Card provides up to $424 in annual statement credits when members enroll for specific benefits: $120 in Uber Cash, $120 in dining credits usable at select restaurants and delivery services, $100 in Resy restaurant reservations and $84 in Dunkin' purchases. Credits are issued monthly and require enrollment via the card’s Benefits tab. Both offers are targeted primarily at U.S. consumers and aim to increase card usage and retention.
