American farmer Justus Walker faces deportation from Russia

Justus Walker, an American farmer living in Russia's Altai Krai, faces potential deportation after Russian authorities informed him that his residence permit may be revoked. Walker, known locally as the "cheerful milkman," gained fame in 2014 for supporting import bans on foreign foods, famously stating, "Because there won't be any Italian cheese [anymore]."

Once praised by Russian media as a model successful foreigner, Walker has recently become a critic of local authorities. He has publicly opposed gold mining projects in the Altai Krai, describing them as a "tragedy," and has criticized bureaucratic pressure on small and medium-sized farmers. Walker reported that his family has invested nearly all their savings into their Russian farm and noted that if the decision stands, they may have only a few days to leave the country.
