American Heart Association expands CPR training and awareness initiatives

The American Heart Association is conducting various community initiatives to increase CPR awareness and lifesaving skills across different regions in the United States.

In Horry County, South Carolina, the association is providing Hands-Only CPR training equipment and first aid kits to several high schools, including Conway, Myrtle Beach, and North Myrtle Beach. This program, sponsored locally by HTC, aims to expand to more schools in the coming year to build a network of trained individuals.

In Kern County, California, more than 1,000 participants gathered at California State University, Bakersfield, for the 2026 Heart and Stroke Walk. The event raised over $325,000 to support research, education, and local impact initiatives. Participants also received Hands-Only CPR training as part of the campaign to improve community response to cardiac arrest emergencies.
