American High to premiere ‘Minimum Wage’ on Netflix

The production company American High is set to bring its series ‘Minimum Wage’ to Netflix, with the first 14 episodes scheduled to premiere on October 26. The project originated as a low-budget YouTube web series produced for under $2,000 in May 2024.

American High, founded by Jeremy Garelick, focuses on discovering comedic talent through a model that emphasizes direct amplification of creators without traditional gatekeeping. The company aims to provide opportunities for first-time directors and actors, a strategy that differentiates it from major studios that often favor established talent. The 28-episode Netflix order represents a significant expansion for the production outfit, which also operates American High Shorts.
