American investment at Sadu 2 nearing contract signature

Negotiations for a major private American investment at the Sadu 2 platform in Gorj County, Romania, are nearing completion. Corneliu Răducan Morega, the Prefect of Gorj, indicated that a contract could be signed as early as this week.

The project is described as a large-scale investment that encompasses the entire Sadu 2 heritage. It is expected to include the establishment of an ammunition and armament factory, as well as a research center. While the American investor has reportedly accepted all conditions set by the Romanian state, the Prefect noted that the process has faced bureaucratic hurdles and various local interests.

This project is distinct from a separate investment at Sadu 1, which is being conducted through the national SAFE program. The Sadu 2 initiative is characterized as a purely private investment.
