American Jet resumes Neuquén to Chos Malal flights
American Jet has resumed regular commercial flights between Neuquén and Chos Malal, restoring air connectivity to northern Neuquén after a 14-year hiatus. The service utilizes a 19-passenger twin-turboprop aircraft and reduces travel time to approximately 45 to 50 minutes, a significant improvement over several hours required for land travel.
The Chos Malal route will operate twice weekly on Mondays and Thursdays. Additionally, the airline is expanding provincial connectivity with a new route between Neuquén and Chapelco, scheduled to begin operations with three weekly frequencies on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays.
Provincial authorities, including Governor Rolando Figueroa, noted that the restoration of these flights is a key step for territorial integration, supporting tourism, economic activity, and essential sanitary flights. The initiative is part of a broader provincial plan to strengthen regional links and facilitate movement for residents and visitors.
