American Medical Association appoints Jennifer Goldsack to lead new AI center

The American Medical Association (AMA) has appointed Jennifer Goldsack as senior vice president and the inaugural leader of its Center for Digital Health and AI. Goldsack transitions to the AMA from the Digital Medicine Society (DiMe), a nonprofit she founded and led as CEO in 2019.

During her tenure at DiMe, Goldsack oversaw the development of frameworks for evaluating sensor-based measures that have been cited by the FDA and the European Medicines Agency. She also established the DiMe Seal, an evidence-based evaluation framework for digital health software recognized by CMS as a pathway to its Medicare App Library.

The AMA Center for Digital Health and AI, which launched last year, has already produced research regarding AI use among physicians and conducted international surveys on the adoption of wearable technologies in patient care. Goldsack’s leadership is expected to focus on the responsible adoption of digital innovations, ensuring they are safe, effective, and equitable for both patients and physicians.
