American Rheinmetall secures USMC defense contracts

American Rheinmetall has secured two significant contracts to support the modernization and logistical capabilities of the United States Marine Corps (USMC).

Through the Defense Logistics Agency, the company will receive a $7.28 million contract to provide twelve Mission Master SP autonomous unmanned ground vehicles (UGVs). These 8x8 electric-powered platforms feature the PATH autonomy architecture, allowing for navigation in complex environments and limited GPS conditions. The order includes five amphibious kits and is intended to assist with logistics, reconnaissance, and casualty evacuation to reduce personnel exposure in frontline roles.

Additionally, American Rheinmetall has been awarded a $710,000 subcontract from Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace. This contract tasks the company’s Michigan facilities with manufacturing machined components for the MCT-30 medium caliber turret. These components will support the ACV-30 infantry fighting vehicle variant within the USMC’s Amphibious Combat Vehicle program, with deliveries expected throughout 2026 and 2027.
