American Rheinmetall to produce MK93 weapon mounts for U.S. Army
American Rheinmetall will manufacture and upgrade thousands of MK93 Enhanced Softmount systems at its production facility in Maine. The order, valued at $20.7 million, is intended to meet U.S. Army requirements through defense contractor ADS Inc. and the Defense Logistics Agency.
The contract includes the production of 3,104 new MK93 Enhanced Softmount systems and the upgrade of 245 previously delivered units to ensure all systems meet current configurations. These mounts provide a stable and durable mounting solution for crew-served weapon systems.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2026 and continue through October 2027. The project has received support from Senator Susan Collins, who highlighted the importance of maintaining critical industrial capabilities and supporting the local economy in York County, Maine.
