American Rheinmetall wins $710,000 contract for U.S. Marine Corps turret components

American Rheinmetall has secured a $710,000 subcontract with Kongsberg Defence & Aerospace to manufacture components for the MCT-30 medium caliber turret. These components will be used in the ACV-30 amphibious combat vehicles for the U.S. Marine Corps.

The production is scheduled to take place at American Rheinmetall facilities in Lapeer and Lansing, Michigan, with deliveries planned for 2026 and 2027. This agreement marks the first time Kongsberg has contracted with American Rheinmetall’s Michigan locations and establishes the company as a subcontractor for Kongsberg within the U.S. market.

The MCT-30 is an unmanned turret designed to provide increased firepower for the ACV-30 program, which aims to replace the Marine Corps' aging Assault Amphibious Vehicles. The turret can be equipped with a 30 mm or 40 mm cannon, along with various secondary weapon systems such as machine guns or anti-tank missile launchers.
