American tourist recovers lost backpack with thousands of dollars in Italy
An American tourist, a fire captain from Salt Lake City, has recovered a lost military-style tactical backpack containing identity documents, credit cards, 2,340 US dollars, and 90 euros.
The backpack was left on a regional train traveling the Civitavecchia-Rome route. A resident of Santa Marinella discovered the item and immediately turned it over to the local Carabinieri station.
Following investigations using open sources and web channels, the Carabinieri successfully located the owner while he was still traveling in Italy. The tourist visited the Santa Marinella Carabinieri station to retrieve all his belongings and expressed gratitude for the honesty of the citizen and the efficiency of the officers.
