Da Lat rescue operations: American tourist and Malaysian hiker saved

Multiple rescue operations took place in Vietnam’s Da Lat region involving foreign tourists. In Tuyen Lam Lake, an American tourist named Laszlo swam into the water to rescue a woman who had attempted to drown herself. Local authorities have expressed intentions to meet with him to convey their gratitude for his timely intervention.

Separately, a 40-year-old Malaysian woman, Goh Shu Wen, was rescued after falling into a deep hole while hiking on Hon Bo Mountain in Da Lat. The hole, which was part of an abandoned mining site, was reported to be between 10 and 20 meters deep. Emergency responders, including the Lam Dong Provincial Police and Fire Prevention and Rescue teams, successfully extracted her. She was transported to Lam Dong General Hospital with injuries to her ankle.

Local authorities have issued advisories for tourists to follow safety signs and avoid hiking in hazardous terrain or during poor weather conditions to prevent similar accidents.
