American Truck Simulator hits record player counts with new Ford DLC

SCS Software has released the ‘Road Trip: Ford’ DLC for American Truck Simulator, a move that has driven the game to record-breaking player engagement. Following the update, concurrent player counts on Steam reached a peak of 21,318, surpassing the previous record of 19,138 set during the game's initial release approximately ten years ago.

The expansion introduces several iconic Ford vehicles, including the 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback, 2023 Ford F-150, 2023 Ford Bronco, and the 1998–2012 Ford Crown Victoria. This allows players to transition from traditional heavy trucking to driving passenger vehicles for sightseeing purposes.

Key features of the DLC include the ‘Atlas’ navigation system, which guides players to various ‘Tourist Boards’ and exploration spots across the map. Visiting these locations allows players to collect unique postcards to display on their vehicle dashboards. The content is compatible with the game’s ‘Convoy’ multiplayer mode. A subsequent expansion, ‘RAM & Dodge Car Pack’, has already been announced.
