American Truck Simulator reveals new Atlas exploration feature

SCS Software has revealed ‘Atlas’, a new exploration-focused gameplay feature coming to American Truck Simulator as part of the upcoming ‘Road Trip’ update. The feature is designed to encourage players to discover landmarks and hidden attractions across the game’s map.

Through the Atlas interface, players can select ‘Tourist Boards’ to receive GPS guidance to specific locations. Once at a destination, players can explore various sites, including new ‘Points of Interest’. Unlike previous photo or viewpoint mechanics, ‘Points of Interest’ are marked as discovered simply by driving through the designated area, which triggers a notification and unlocks local information.

Completing all exploration sites associated with a specific Tourist Board will grant the player a unique collectible postcard for their dashboard. The Atlas feature will be available through upcoming vehicle DLCs, such as the ‘Ford Car Pack’ and ‘RAM & Dodge Car Pack’, though specific release dates for the update and the DLC have not yet been announced.
