American University in Cairo welcomes fourth cohort of Excellence Scholarship recipients
The American University in Cairo (AUC) has welcomed 363 students as part of the fourth cohort of its Excellence Scholarship program for the Fall 2026 academic year. The program is designed to support high-achieving students in both academic and non-academic fields, regardless of their financial status.
This year's cohort includes the largest number of Egyptian public school students since the program's inception, with 126 students coming from Egyptian Thanaweya Amma, Nile Egyptian Schools, and STEM schools. AUC President Dr. Ahmed Dallal noted that scholarship students, along with other high achievers, now represent approximately 40% of the university's total student body.
In total, the university provided various scholarships to over 530 students this year, including 292 full-tuition scholarships and over 290 Achievement Scholarships for first-year students. Since the program launched in Fall 2023, 1,156 students from various Egyptian governorates and around the world have received Excellence Scholarships to study at AUC.
