Americanas sells sixth Natural da Terra store to Oba Hortifruti
Americanas has completed the sale of its sixth Natural da Terra unit to the Oba Hortifruti network. This transaction is part of a R$ 69.3 million agreement signed in May to sell ten loss-making stores as part of the company’s judicial recovery plan.
The proceeds from these sales, including upfront payments and subsequent installments, are being deposited into a linked account for the extraordinary amortization of Americanas’ debentures, in accordance with its restructuring guidelines. This follows a recent decision by the Rio de Janeiro Court to decree the end of Americanas’ judicial recovery process.
For Oba Hortifruti, the acquisition of these units—many located in high-income neighborhoods in the state of São Paulo—allows for rapid market expansion and scale without the need for new construction or licensing. The food retail sector is currently undergoing significant consolidation.
