Americans' faith in capitalism declines in new survey

A recent survey conducted by The Honesty Project, in partnership with the opinion-research think tank Populace, indicates a shift in American attitudes toward the nation’s economic system. The findings suggest that only one in three Americans holds a positive view of capitalism.

The research comes amid political shifts, including victories by the Democratic Socialists of America in states such as New York, Pennsylvania, Colorado, and Florida. While the data shows that many Americans remain wary of full-blown socialism, there is a growing sense of dissatisfaction with the current capitalist framework.
