Americas Cardroom introduces ScreenShield to combat remote-access security concerns
Americas Cardroom has introduced ScreenShield, a security feature designed to protect poker tables from unauthorized screen-capture and screen-sharing methods. The move follows security concerns regarding remote-access software within the Winning Poker Network (WPN).
On September 29, WPN contacted players who met specific detection criteria to activate ScreenShield as a precaution. While the feature blocks external capture of table information, such as hole cards, it may impact legitimate users who stream content, record sessions, or use screen-sharing for coaching and IT support.
A review of WPN systems, poker software, and official downloads found no evidence of compromise. The Game Integrity team is currently investigating player and account activity. If findings establish that players were harmed, appropriate compensation will be determined.
In addition to ScreenShield, ACR Poker is collaborating with GTO Wizard to cross-check whether played situations were solved using the tool. WPN is also developing a client control that will allow players to toggle the security feature on or off directly.
