Amerigo Vespucci completes 2026 World Tour with high visitor numbers
The Italian Navy's training ship, Amerigo Vespucci, has concluded its 2026 World Tour. The campaign ended in Trieste, Italy, following a series of stops in North America, including Baltimore, New York, Boston, Quebec City, and Montreal, as well as various Italian ports such as Venice, Naples, and Cagliari.
The tour saw significant public engagement, with over 180,000 total visitors recorded throughout the campaign. In Trieste alone, more than 75,000 people visited the vessel. The ship serves a dual purpose as a training unit for the Marina Militare and as a global ambassador for Italian excellence.
Recent stops included Marina di Ravenna, where the ship was open to the public via a mandatory free reservation system. Following the conclusion of the tour, the vessel is scheduled to return to La Spezia.
