Amerigo Vespucci training ship arrives in Cádiz for public visits

The Italian Navy's historic training ship, Amerigo Vespucci, has arrived at the Port of Cádiz as part of its 2026 instruction campaign. The vessel, which was launched in 1931 and continues to train future Italian naval officers, is scheduled to remain in the Bay of Cádiz until September 6.

To mark its stay, the ship is offering free public access on two specific days: Thursday, September 3, and Saturday, September 5, between 1:00 PM and 4:30 PM. No prior reservation is required, though entry is subject to the ship's maximum capacity and port organizational measures. Visitors can explore the vessel following an established itinerary, with crew members available to answer questions.

The arrival has drawn significant public interest, with large crowds gathering at the port to view the 101-meter tall ship, characterized by its three masts and traditional wooden finishes.
