Amerigo Vespucci training ship visits Trieste and Ravenna

The Italian Navy's training ship, Amerigo Vespucci, is conducting a tour of Italian ports, including recent stops in Trieste and an upcoming arrival in Ravenna. In Trieste, the visit featured an inclusion initiative led by Minister for Disabilities Alessandra Locatelli, which allowed approximately 1,000 people with disabilities to board the vessel.

In Ravenna, the ship is scheduled to dock at Marina di Ravenna from October 14 to October 18 as part of the ‘Ravenna Italian Sea Capital 2026’ celebrations. Public visits in Ravenna require mandatory reservations through Ravenna Incoming. Due to high demand, the reservation website experienced significant technical issues and heavy traffic when booking slots opened.

Additional events surrounding the ship's presence include the ‘Villaggio Ravenna’ cultural hub, a concert by the Navy's departmental fanfare, and guided tours of local maritime sites.
