Amersfoort schools launch E-waste Race to combat electronic waste

Ten primary schools in Amersfoort are participating in the E-waste Race from September 14 to October 8. The initiative aims to promote a circular economy by collecting and repurposing small electronic waste.

Students will collect items such as old keyboards, kettles, mobile phones, cables, and adapters from local residents. Participants earn points for repairing, reusing, and collecting these items, with the winning school receiving a trip to NEMO. Residents who contribute can request free home collection via the E-waste Race website and will receive discount codes for sustainable products from Fairphone.
