Amfilochia to host 2nd Amfilochios Run half marathon

The Municipality of Amfilochia is organizing the 2nd Amfilochios Run half marathon on Sunday, September 27, 2026. The 20.3 km race is designed to highlight the archaeological sites within the region.

The route begins at Anoixiatiko Square, passing through Loutro, Olpeis, the Boukas beach, and the central road of Amfilochiko Argos near the ancient theater, before finishing at the central square of Amfilochia at the foot of the Castle of Ancient Limnaia. Local cultural associations will host booths at various archaeological points along the course to promote the sites.

The event starts at 17:00, with an awards ceremony scheduled for 19:00. Participation is free, and registration can be completed electronically or at local municipal offices until September 25, 2026. All participants are required to have undergone medical examinations, and commemorative medals will be awarded to all finishers, with prizes for the top three winners.
