Amfilochia western coastline redevelopment nears completion
The redevelopment of the western coastline and the construction of a pedestrian walkway in Amfilochia is entering its final stages. Nektarios Farmakis, the Governor of Western Greece, recently inspected the site to assess progress.
Funded by the Regional Development Program with a budget of 2.5 million euros, the project aims to improve road safety and create a modern recreational space. The intervention extends from the western entrance of the Amfilochia Marina to the Agios Georgios area. Currently, asphalt paving is approximately 90% complete. The next phase of work will involve planting and landscaping to complete the environmental and aesthetic upgrades.
The new infrastructure will feature a walking path approximately three kilometers in length, connecting the city to the coastal front and providing seating and rest areas for residents and visitors. The project was integrated into the Region of Western Greece funding program in 2023.
