Amherstburg approves $7 million infrastructure tender

The Amherstburg town council has approved a $7,068,601 tender with Rudak Excavating Inc. for infrastructure development in the town’s southeast quadrant. The project involves the installation of new watermains, sanitary mainline sewers, sanitary forcemains, and a sanitary pumping station to support local development.

The project is supported by a grant of up to $9,306,990 from the Housing-Enabling Water Systems Fund (HEWSF), intended to accommodate up to 1,101 homes. While the current tender focuses on underground infrastructure, officials noted that road reconstructions for areas such as Fryer Street and Lowes Side Road are planned for future budget cycles, with Fryer Street expected to include new sidewalks and bike lanes.
