Ami Nakai targets 2030 Olympics with new tango program

Figure skater Ami Nakai, a bronze medalist at the Milano Cortina Olympics, expressed her determination to prepare for the 2030 Winter Olympics in the French Alps during a press conference in Tokyo. Reflecting on her rapid ascent to the Olympic podium, Nakai stated she intends to use the next four years to prepare thoroughly and achieve consistent results year by year.

Nakai, who won her first Grand Prix event at the France Cup during her senior debut last season, is also introducing a new tango-themed short program titled ‘Pol una cabeza’ this season. She noted that she is working closely with choreographers on technical details to reveal a new side of her skating ability. Her upcoming schedule includes the Grand Prix France Cup starting October 23 and Skate America in November, with the goal of qualifying for the Grand Prix Final in China.
