Capcom titles win major awards at Japan Game Awards 2026

Capcom has announced that its title ‘Pragmata’ won both the ‘Excellence Award’ and the ‘Breakthrough Award’ at the Japan Game Awards 2026. The SF action-adventure game, which has surpassed 2.5 million sales, was recognized for its innovative fusion of puzzle and action gameplay.

Additionally, ‘Resident Evil Requiem’ received the ‘Excellence Award’. The survival horror title has reached 8 million sales, marking a significant milestone for the 30th anniversary of the series.

In the hobby sector, several new figure releases have been announced. This includes Touhou Project characters Hakurei Reimu and Kirisame Marisa in a ‘Reverse Palm Spirit’ series by AmiAmi and Reverse Studio, as well as a 1/8 scale figure of Milla Maxwell from Tales of Xillia by Kotobukiya. In manga, author Natumi Hirota is launching a new serialization, ‘Sore wa Ai Janai Deshou’, in the digital magazine Love Jossie.
