Amici 26 overhauls format with new technical commissioners and opens casting to former Sanremo artists
The Italian talent show Amici 26 will retire its long‑standing professor judges by 2027 and introduce technical commissioners who will direct artistic strategy and oversee the preparation of contestants. The revamp also adds a sports discipline to the curriculum, aiming to make performances more competitive and to refresh the daytime narrative.
In addition, the casting call has been broadened to include established singers who previously competed at the Sanremo Festival, such as Shari, Will and Matteo Romano. Their participation is intended to counter falling audience figures and inject new public interest into the programme.
