Amici talent show to introduce sports disciplines in new season

The Italian talent show Amici, hosted by Maria De Filippi, is set to return to Canale 5 on Sunday, October 4, with a significant format overhaul for its 26th edition. In an effort to revitalize the program following a decline in viewership during the previous season's evening finale, the show will expand beyond its traditional singing and dancing categories.

For the first time, the competition will include three new sports disciplines: boxing, judo, and roller figure skating. Each discipline will feature a dedicated student who will undergo training and challenges under the guidance of expert instructors.

Regarding the faculty, Alessandra Celentano, Rudy Zerbi, and Lorella Cuccarini are expected to return, though changes to the teaching staff are anticipated. Specifically, Anna Pettinelli is expected to depart, leaving a vacancy in the dance department that has sparked various rumors regarding potential replacements.
