Amidžić vows to resolve VAT refund issues for first real estate

Srđan Amidžić, the Minister of Finance and Treasury of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stated that the issue regarding VAT refunds for first-time real estate purchases will be resolved despite various obstructions. He noted that while the Tax Administration of Republika Srpska has completed all necessary preparations, technical issues and a lack of readiness from federal institutions—specifically the Federal Tax Administration, the Federal Ministry of Justice, and RUGIPP—have delayed the process.

Amidžić criticized the lack of coordination between entities, suggesting that the technical unpreparedness of federal institutions has hindered progress. He expressed hope that the matter would be resolved within the coming week, adding that he would personally name those responsible for stalling the process if it is not completed. He compared the situation to the recent opening of the Gradiška border crossing, which was also achieved despite pressures.
