Amiens hosts 100 km Val de Somme ultramarathon

Nearly 300 runners are set to participate in the 100 km Val de Somme endurance race starting Saturday, October 3, in Amiens. The event, which serves as the 2026-2027 French Championship, follows a flat course along the Somme river via the chemin de Halage.

Dominique Lazare, president of the Amicale du Val de Somme, noted that the course is popular due to its flat terrain and natural setting. The competition features high stakes for records, with the men's record of 6h37 potentially at risk and a highly anticipated duel expected among the top female competitors.
