Amil sale negotiations advance between Seripieri and Bain, Advent

Negotiations for the sale of 100% of the healthcare operator Amil to US-based private equity firms Bain Capital and Advent International have reached an advanced stage. While reports suggest the deal is nearing final adjustments, a recent meeting between Amil's controller, José Seripieri Filho, and the investment funds did not yield an immediate resolution, leaving certain financial accounts to be recalculated.

A significant hurdle remains the valuation gap, estimated at approximately R$ 2 billion. Seripieri is reportedly seeking a total deal value of around R$ 18 billion, which would cover both the company purchase and the assumption of Amil's existing financial obligations.

In preparation for a potential transition, Bain and Advent have reportedly identified Irlau Machado, the former president of NotreDame Intermédica, as the candidate to lead Amil should the acquisition be finalized.
