Amin Chiakha discusses Algeria international experience and Rosenborg return

Rosenborg striker Amin Chiakha has shared his reflections following his recent international duty with the Algerian national team. During the November 2024 period, the 20-year-old saw increased playing time under coach Brahim Hemdani, including his first start in a match against Burundi during the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Chiakha also participated in matches against Zambia and Niger.

While he did not score during this international break, Chiakha expressed satisfaction with the experience, noting the importance of gaining minutes within a young, transitioning squad. He acknowledged the physical toll of the schedule, stating that while he might have benefited from a week of rest, he is grateful for the opportunity.

Returning to Trondheim, the attacker is focused on his domestic campaign with Rosenborg, where he has scored 13 goals in 21 league matches. He remains a contender for the Eliteserien top scorer title, though he noted he prefers to focus on the end-of-season results rather than immediate pressure.
