Amin Chiakha reports alleged racial abuse in Norway

Algerian international striker Amin Chiakha has accused an opponent of using a racial slur during Rosenborg’s 3-0 victory over Fredrikstad in the Eliteserien. Despite scoring two goals to maintain his position as the league’s top scorer with 17 goals, the 20-year-old was visibly distressed during the match.

Rosenborg’s general manager, Tore Berdal, stated that Chiakha was allegedly targeted with a derogatory Danish word related to his origins. The club has filed an official report with the Norwegian Football Federation and is calling for a thorough investigation. While Rosenborg has expressed full support for their player, Fredrikstad has denied the allegations.

On the pitch, Chiakha’s performance helped Rosenborg secure fourth place in the standings, keeping the club in contention for a Europa Conference League spot. The match official, Sigurd Smehus Kringstad, confirmed to media outlets that the incident involved accusations of racism.
