Amin Chiakha responds to racism allegations during Rosenborg match

Rosenborg striker Amin Chiakha has publicly addressed allegations of racism following a match against Fredrikstad. In a social media post, the 20-year-old described the experience as unacceptably and expressed gratitude for the support he has received.

The incident occurred during Rosenborg’s 3-0 victory over Fredrikstad. While Rosenborg and Chiakha maintain that the player was subjected to a racial slur, Fredrikstad has stated that the involved player denies the accusation. The referee, Sigurd Smehus Kringstad, confirmed that allegations of racism were reported during the match, though he noted that nothing was directly heard or seen at the time.

Rosenborg coach Freyr Alexandersson expressed full support for Chiakha, noting the player was visibly upset. Fredrikstad’s sporting director, Joacim Heier, stated that the club is taking the claims seriously and will investigate to determine if the incident was a misunderstanding or a violation of conduct.
