Amina Mohammed to visit India for sustainable development talks
United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina Mohammed will visit India from August 26 to 28 to discuss cooperation between the UN and New Delhi. During her stay in New Delhi, Mohammed will meet with senior government officials to focus on India’s engagement in advancing sustainable development goals.
As part of her itinerary, Mohammed is scheduled to meet with students at the Indian Institute of Technology. The discussion will center on the opportunities and challenges of leveraging digital innovation to support sustainable development.
This visit is part of a broader Asian tour. Prior to arriving in India, Mohammed will be in China to convene ‘The Third Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence and Human Development’. Following her time in India, she will travel to Mongolia to attend the 17th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention to Combat Desertification (COP17) in Ulaanbaatar, where she will advocate for accelerated land restoration and drought resilience.
