Amine Kessaci announces resignation from Marseille Habitat presidency

Amine Kessaci, the fourth deputy mayor of Marseille and president of the municipal social housing provider Marseille Habitat, has announced his intention to resign from his presidency. The decision follows a board meeting where members rejected his proposed candidate for the position of Director General, Sabba Benderradji.

In addition to rejecting the proposed candidate, the board also voted against Kessaci’s proposal to serve as interim Director General himself. Kessaci, a prominent figure in the Printemps Marseillais party and a known activist against drug trafficking, stated that he would present his resignation to Mayor Benoît Payan. This development signals potential political friction within the city's governing majority.
