Aminu Sanda charged with treasonable felony in Nigeria

Aminu Sanda, a resident of Katsina State known as Nesta, has been charged with treasonable felony following allegations that he destroyed campaign billboards belonging to President Bola Tinubu. Sanda is also accused of breaking into the Katsina State Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and stealing N35 million.

Sanda, who serves as the state chairman of the Dikko/Tinubu Vanguard—a political support group for the President—has vehemently denied all charges. He described the accusations as unfounded, questioning the logic of attacking the President's campaign materials while leading a support group for him.

After being detained by police in Katsina, Sanda was transferred to the Force Headquarters in Abuja. A Magistrate Court in Jiwa, Federal Capital Territory, has remanded him. While his legal team has sought bail and challenged the lack of credible evidence, police have applied to extend his remand period to allow for further investigation.
