Aminuddin Harun accepts responsibility for PKR's Negeri Sembilan election defeat

Aminuddin Harun, the Negeri Sembilan PKR chief, has accepted responsibility for the party’s poor performance in the August 1 state election. Speaking at the PKR national congress, Aminuddin acknowledged leadership weaknesses and unsuccessful strategies following the party's defeat, where PKR won only two of the 16 contested seats.

Aminuddin stated he agrees with calls from six Negeri Sembilan PKR divisions for him to step down from his position as state chapter chief. He expressed readiness to accept any decision made by the party leadership, noting that the position belongs to the party rather than the individual. He emphasized that the defeat should serve as a starting point to rebuild the party, refine its machinery, and improve its strategies.

PKR President Anwar Ibrahim previously indicated that the demands for Aminuddin’s resignation could be discussed within the party, though he noted that no official letter had been received regarding the matter.
