Amir Murillo claims Roberto De Zerbi showed him lack of respect

Former Marseille defender Amir Murillo has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi showed him a lack of respect during their time together in France. Murillo, who now plays for Besiktas, stated that his relationship with the Italian coach deteriorated to the point where he felt personally disrespected and was effectively forced to leave Marseille.

Murillo noted that the conflict was personal and not related to the club or his teammates. During his tenure at Marseille, De Zerbi had previously defended his management style, stating he demands constant motivation and hunger from his players. Following a period of tension where Murillo was relegated to the reserve team, the Panamanian international moved to Besiktas.

These comments resurface amid ongoing scrutiny of De Zerbi’s management at Tottenham, where he is currently facing questions regarding player relationships following the exclusion of striker Richarlison from the league squad and the team's recent struggles to score.
