Amira Hass receives Vázquez Montalbán International Journalism Award

Amira Hass has been awarded the Manuel Vázquez Montalbán International Journalism Award in Barcelona. The award recognizes her long-standing commitment to reporting on Palestinian reality from within the community, often focusing on individuals who are otherwise reduced to mere statistics in mainstream media.

The recognition of Hass draws parallels to past recipients such as Anna Politkovskaya, the investigative journalist who was assassinated in Russia for her reporting on human rights abuses in Chechnya. The award highlights the importance of investigative journalism that challenges official narratives and seeks to uncover the truth regardless of the personal or political cost.
