AMIS seeks agreement with legislators to regulate medical insurance costs
The Mexican Association of Insurance Institutions (AMIS) is engaging in dialogue with federal deputies to address legislative initiatives aimed at regulating the costs of major medical expense insurance and private hospital tariffs.
AMIS has participated in forums and working groups with various parliamentary groups to analyze the causes of rising policy costs and medical service fees. The association’s proposals include increasing transparency for users, developing accessible insurance alternatives for senior citizens, and ensuring that any regulatory changes maintain the sustainability of health coverage and the viability of medical services.
AMIS emphasizes that healthcare is a complex ecosystem involving insurers, hospitals, doctors, laboratories, and pharmaceutical providers. The association stated it will continue working with Congress and private health system participants to protect users while preserving access to quality healthcare services.
