Amit Satam proposes STEM study tours for BMC students

Mumbai BJP President and MLA Amit Satam has proposed study tours for meritorious students from Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) schools to enhance their STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) skills. In a letter addressed to BMC Municipal Commissioner Ashwini Bhide and Mayor Ritu Tawde, Satam suggested selecting 50 students from Class 8 and 50 students from Class 9 for these educational trips.

The proposal includes sending Class 8 students to the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) and Class 9 students to Singapore or Japan. Satam noted that budgetary provisions under the ‘Teach Mumbai’ fund could potentially be utilized for these tours. Additionally, he mentioned plans to inaugurate the corporation's first school equipped with AI and robotics labs in Juhu.
