Uttar Pradesh defence manufacturing and investment highlighted by Amit Shah

At the fourth Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS) in Greater Noida, Union Home Minister Amit Shah highlighted the state's growing role in defence manufacturing and industrial investment. Shah noted that the production of BrahMos missiles in Lucknow and AK-203 assault rifles in Amethi has strengthened India's military capabilities, stating these developments give “sleepless nights” to Pakistan and terrorists.

The Home Minister emphasized that investment is flowing into all six nodes of the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, including Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Lucknow, Agra, Aligarh, and Kanpur. He credited the Yogi Adityanath government for improving law and order, which he said has created a conducive environment for global and domestic investors.

During the event, investment worth Rs 469 crore was implemented through the UPITS platform. This includes land allotments in the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) region for five companies, such as C&R Textiles Private Limited and Perfectpack Limited. These projects are expected to create approximately 4,625 jobs across various sectors.
