Amit Shah Meets Supriya Sule and Sunil Tatkare, Sparking NCP Merger Talk

Union Home Minister Amit Shah held separate meetings in Delhi with NCP leaders Supriya Sule, Bajrang Sonawane of the Sharad Pawar faction and Sunil Tatkare, president of the Ajit Pawar faction. The gatherings have revived speculation that the two rival NCP groups may reunite and join the BJP‑led National Democratic Alliance.

Sule said the meeting was primarily to invite Shah to her daughter Revati’s wedding reception scheduled for August 10, while also discussing constituency matters. Neither she nor Tatkare confirmed any political realignment, but political sources say the BJP is keen on an NCP merger before any formal NDA entry. The talks follow Sharad Pawar’s recent meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which focused on a NEET paper leak and farmer issues.
