Amit Shah launches women's cooperative initiatives in Kerala

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah visited Kollam, Kerala, to launch several initiatives aimed at women's empowerment through the cooperative sector. A key highlight was the inauguration of the ‘She-Mart’ initiative by the National Cooperative Consumers’ Federation of India (NCCF), which is set to expand into a network of 300 outlets across Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka to connect women entrepreneurs with markets.

During his visit, Shah emphasized that strengthening the cooperative movement is a core objective of the central government to drive rural and agricultural development. He also noted the importance of the newly created Ministry of Cooperation in fulfilling long-standing demands from the farming community.

In a separate but related series of events in Amritapuri, celebrations were held for the 73rd birthday of Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. Vice President C. P. Radhakrishnan attended the Vishwa Seva Dinam celebrations, praising the spiritual leader's humanitarian work. The Mata Amritanandamayi Math launched charitable programs worth Rs 50 crore, including Rs 2 crore in relief assistance for flash flood victims in Nepal and financial aid for families affected by local accidents in India.
